Dnestrovsk only received city status in 2002 and was built around the Moldavian GRES — the region's largest power plant, with Europe's tallest chimney at 330 meters. In summer the city becomes a popular resort on the shore of the Kuchurgan estuary.
One-day excursions let you see the Moldavian GRES, stroll by the yacht club on the estuary, and take photos at the "Ruslan and Chernomor" fountain.
